Some sessions just feel easy from the very beginning, and the Teckenbrock family’s session in Gatlinburg was exactly that. From the moment we met up, I knew this one was going to be special.

This adorable crew had some of the best‑behaved, most positive kids I’ve worked with in a long time. They were up for anything I suggested, full of personality, and so chatty the entire time. Those natural conversations and genuine laughs are always my favorite moments to capture because they tell the real story of a family.

The Smoky Mountains gave us the perfect backdrop for their session. We had one of those ideal photography days—soft, overcast skies that created beautiful light, just enough breeze to keep things comfortable, and no harsh sun to fight. It’s the kind of weather photographers quietly hope for, and it couldn’t have suited this session better.

What I loved most about this session was how relaxed and fun it felt. The kids leaned into the experience, the parents trusted the process, and together we created images that feel joyful, natural, and full of connection. These are the kinds of sessions where you can really see personalities shine through in every image.

Gatlinburg is such a great spot for family photos, especially for families visiting the Smokies. Between the scenery and the laid‑back vibe, it allows families to simply enjoy being together while I capture those moments for them.
