Some sessions just start your day off right — and the Craven family’s sunrise session in Gatlinburg was absolutely one of those. We met just after sunrise, when the mountains were still quiet and the light was soft and golden. It was one of those peaceful Smoky Mountain mornings that feels calm and still… at least until the kids arrive.
And then came the energy.

This family was an absolute joy to photograph. From the very beginning, there was laughter, movement, and so much personality. Tuff completely stole the show with his hilarious expressions and nonstop faces. He kept everyone smiling — including me — and those candid moments are always my favorite to capture. You can’t plan that kind of personality, and it made the session so fun and natural.

The girls were the perfect contrast — calm, confident, and total naturals in front of the camera. They slipped into poses effortlessly and looked like little models without even trying. Together, this family photographed beautifully, and every frame felt full of connection and love.

What I loved most about this session was how genuine it felt. No forced smiles, no stiff poses — just a family being themselves in one of the prettiest places to start the day. Sunrise sessions can feel early, but they’re always worth it for moments like these: peaceful surroundings, soft light, and kids free to be exactly who they are.

Andrea, thank you so much for trusting me to capture these memories for your family. It was truly a pleasure, and I loved every minute of our time together. I hope these images always bring you back to that quiet Gatlinburg morning filled with laughter, love, and a whole lot of personality. 💛

If you’re planning a family trip to the Smokies and want photos that feel relaxed, fun, and true to your family, sunrise sessions might just be your perfect fit.
