There’s something extra special about photographing a wedding when you already feel like part of the family. My 2025 wedding season kicked off with the sweetest celebration — the wedding of John and Audrey. I’ve known Audrey’s mom for several years now, and after photographing John and Audrey’s engagement session (which turned out so adorable), I was beyond excited and truly honored when Audrey asked me to capture their big day.

Their wedding took place at the end of March at a beautiful Airbnb in Boyds Creek, right at that magical moment when the winter browns start giving way to the first signs of spring green. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect — warm sunshine, a light breeze, and the kind of day photographers dream about!

The energy all day long was pure joy. The wedding party was an absolute blast — full of laughter, jokes, and plenty of dancing. And the day wasn’t just about two people coming together; it was about two families blending into one. John brought his wonderful son, and Audrey her sweet daughter, creating a new family filled with so much love.

The speeches were a highlight of the evening — heartfelt, hilarious, and filled with stories that had everyone both laughing and tearing up. And let’s not forget the food — absolutely delicious, and made even better by the laid-back, intimate atmosphere of the day.

One of the most touching parts of the whole experience was witnessing the bond Audrey shares with her mom and sister. The three of them even got matching tattoos before the big day — such a meaningful and unforgettable way to mark the occasion.
