Some sessions feel like a full-circle moment for me as a photographer, and this one with Carmine and Kate is definitely one of those. I’ve had the honor of capturing moments for this wonderful family since the very start of my photography journey. From the first time I picked up my camera, they’ve trusted me to document their special moments, and I couldn’t be more grateful for them.

This session was one we’d been planning for a while, and I’m so glad we finally made it happen! Carmine and Kate’s favorite activity is baking, so it was the perfect way to capture their bond as grandmother and granddaughter. There’s something so beautiful about capturing a family’s traditions and the joy they share in those simple moments—and baking together is such a special tradition for these two.

Carmine and Kate spent the afternoon in the kitchen, creating cookies and even a fun unicorn cake. Watching Kate’s eyes light up as she worked alongside her grandmother was absolutely heartwarming. Carmine has such a calm, loving presence, and Kate clearly adores every moment they share together. The whole kitchen was filled with laughter, flour, and the sweet scent of freshly baked treats.

As if that wasn’t enough fun, Will—Kate’s brother and Carmine’s grandson—popped in to join the fun! He was quick to lend a hand and, of course, steal a few tastes of the delicious treats along the way. It was clear that everyone was having a blast, and it was such a joy to capture these genuine, candid moments of family togetherness.

In the end, these photos are so much more than just images—they’re keepsakes of the love and connection between a grandmother, granddaughter, and their family. I’m so grateful to have been part of this session and to be able to provide this beautiful family with memories they can cherish for years to come.
