Kendra and Jake visited the Great Smoky Mountains to celebrate their first wedding anniversary, and I was so excited to capture this special milestone for them.

The day started with nonstop rain, and the area had even experienced some major flooding just hours before our session. I’ll admit, we almost canceled—but sometimes the best moments come when you’re patient and a little hopeful. By the time we started, the skies had cleared, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect.

We kept their session short and sweet, focusing on the connection and love they share. Jake was such a good sport, and Kendra made everything feel effortless and natural. Even with the unpredictable day we’d had, the session ended up being full of beautiful light, laughter, and those little moments that make love feel timeless.

Looking through these images, you’d never know the storm that came before. I love when photography captures not just the way people look, but the way they feel together—and Kendra and Jake radiate that kind of love.

Happy 1st anniversary, you two! Thank you for letting me be a part of your celebration in the Smokies. Here’s to many more years of adventure and memories together.
