I had the pleasure of photographing the Ehrenberg family during their visit to the Smoky Mountains — all the way from Wisconsin! This sweet family was such a joy to work with, and their session had all the makings of a perfect mountain memory.

As we made our way up to the location, it was raining over the mountains and we caught a beautiful rainbow stretching across the sky. It felt like such a good omen for the evening ahead. Once we arrived, the views were breathtaking (as always), and the light broke through just in time for their session.

The Ehrenbergs nailed their red, white, and blue outfit coordination — it looked so clean, classic, and festive against the soft greens and blues of the mountain backdrop. I always love when families choose coordinating looks that still let everyone’s personality shine through.

Like most sessions with little ones, there were some wiggles and real-life moments. Carson took a little time to warm up, but once he did, we caught the most genuine smiles. And Dayne? He was all in… until he wasn’t. 😄 But even in those in-between moments, we captured the joy, connection, and personality that makes family photography so special.

It was such an honor to photograph this fun, kind family while they made memories on vacation. These moments go by so fast — I’m grateful I got to freeze a few of them for the Ehrenbergs to hold onto.
