Some photo sessions are pure sunshine, and some come with a little adventure—like the Wright family’s session in the Smoky Mountains. I arrived a little early that evening, hoping to beat the rain. For a few minutes, I thought we just might make it, but sure enough, the drops began to fall.

You would think a little rain might dampen the mood, but not this family. The Wrights are a blended family, and from the very start, I could see how much love and connection they share. Everyone jumped right in, laughed through the drizzle, and absolutely rocked their session.

We wandered along the trail and stopped at the bridge, both of which made the perfect backdrop. The mist in the air actually gave the photos a soft, dreamy quality, and the raindrops added just a touch of magic. I may have to edit a few drops here and there, but honestly, I wouldn’t change a thing about this evening.

What struck me most was how well this family fit together. Blended families often bring together unique personalities and stories, but the Wrights showed me that love, laughter, and a willingness to embrace the moment can make a session unforgettable.
