There’s something truly magical about proposals in the Smoky Mountains—especially when the couple’s love story has been years in the making. Michael and Jessica’s session was not only one of the sweetest proposals I’ve had the joy to photograph, but it also marked a major milestone for me: my 100th session as a photographer! 🥳✨
Michael and Jessica go way back—they were high school friends who reconnected later in life, and have now been together for 7½ years. Their first trip to Gatlinburg turned into a life-changing memory when Michael got down on one knee at the beautiful Anakeesta, surrounded by sweeping mountain views, glowing golden hour light, and just the right amount of post-thunderstorm magic. 🌦🌄
The skies had us all on edge earlier in the day, but the storms moved out just in time, revealing a dreamy backdrop of misty ridgelines and soft evening sun. These two were such a joy to hang out with—so full of laughter, warmth, and real connection. Capturing their quiet moments, sweet smiles, and that gorgeous pear-shaped ring (check out that sparkle!) was an absolute dream.
One of my favorite shots from the session? Them sitting hand in hand in a pair of rocking chairs, soaking in the view. It felt symbolic—not just of the life they’ve built together, but of all that’s still ahead.
Michael and Jessica, thank you for letting me be part of your story. Your proposal was full of love, laughter, and a whole lot of heart—and I’m so honored it was the 100th chapter in my photography journey. 💛
Here’s to the next adventure—yours and mine!
