The Smoky Mountains are the perfect backdrop for creating lasting memories, and the Reibling family made the most of their Thanksgiving getaway with a family photo session that was as warm and heartwarming as it was picturesque. Traveling all the way from Alabama to celebrate the holiday together, this beautiful family embraced the chilly mountain air, the breathtaking views, and even a bit of adventure along the way.

Though the temperature was on the cooler side, with snow dusting the mountain peaks, the Reibling family brought the warmth with their love for each other. From the moment we started the session, it was clear that this family shares a bond that shines through every photo. They were excited to be together in the Smokies, and the chilly weather couldn’t dampen their spirits.

We had a few memorable moments during the session. For one, a bear had decided to pay a visit to their car before we started shooting! Thankfully, there was no damage, but it definitely added a bit of excitement to the day. Nature has a way of surprising us in the Smokies, and this was a reminder that the mountains are home to all kinds of wild beauty. The Reibling family handled it with calm and good humor, which perfectly set the tone for the rest of the session.

We took advantage of the scenic surroundings, capturing moments by the mountains, with the soft snow creating a magical touch to the backdrop. Brant, always willing to lend a hand, helped me move furniture around to set up for a few indoor shots. His help made all the difference, and I appreciate how everyone jumped in to ensure we got the best possible images. Their willingness to work together, and with me, made the session smooth and fun.

As the sun began to dip behind the mountains, we aimed for some sunset photos. The lighting was soft and golden, making for some beautiful family portraits. The kids were absolute stars—so well-behaved and full of personality. They made my job easy by being natural and relaxed in front of the camera. Their smiles were contagious, and their love for each other really came through in the images.

Despite the chilly air, the family’s warmth and connection made every moment of the session feel special.
