Should I only shoot proms from now on? This session turned out absolutely STUNNING. It definitely helped that I had such gorgeous (and handsome) subjects.
Hannah’s mom reached out a few weeks before prom to ask if I do prom photos. I let her know that, full disclosure, I had never done prom photos, but I was hoping to add them along with senior photos to my portfolio this year. After some discussion of possible locations, we decided on Emert’s Cove Covered Bridge in Pittman Center. This bridge is such a lovely area for photos.
I pulled up to the location about 30 minutes before our scheduled session time and saw how popular of a photography spot this was. There were all sorts of cars and teens dressed to the nines exploring the area. Photographers and moms were lining up and posing their kids alongside their friends and dates, girls taking selfies off to the side.
It was really pleasant how everyone (even though crowded) took turns posing in front of the bridge and being courteous to the other groups. Hannah and Darian were one of the last couples to be photographed at this location. We had to wait a bit, but that was in our favor. We got great golden hour light by the time our session was finished.
Hannah and Darian were a dream to shoot. They met at a neighbor’s wedding a few months back and kept in touch. Darian and his mom traveled all the way from Georgia for prom. How sweet is that!? Hannah was such a good sport. She was willing to climb riverbanks in her sparkly heels. Anything for the photos!
I always overshoot at my sessions and this one was definitely no different. We had SO many photos at the end I had trouble choosing my favorites. I hope to work with Hannah again for her senior photos. I’m already planning!
