I just love this time of year in the Smokies! That feeling you get of pure joy the first time it is warm enough to drive with your windows down. The sunshine on your face and the wind in your hair. We all hunker down through the winter months through cold temperatures and dark evenings. Spring time gives us a sense of freedom; that we can live again.
The feeling I get that I can venture out into the world again always leads me to find new photography locations. Looking for blooms and bright colors. This year I found myself visiting Knoxville Botanical Gardens. I not only love the trees and flowers, but also the stone and iron architecture on site. Knoxville Botanical Garden and Arboretum is a 47 acre public garden located in East Knoxville. I only was able to explore a small amount during this trip. The history of the gardens spans over 200 years.
I walked aimlessly through the gardens shooting the few blooms that were able to push up through the leaves this early in the year. Flowering trees and blooms caught my attention first. Some required me to lay on the ground to get the perfect composition. By being able to take my time, I also caught an interesting image of the view of the moon in the bright of day.
I purchased a photographer’s pass to the gardens, so if you might be interested in a session in this lovely place, reach out. You can follow my Facebook page, Whitney Jo Photography or my Instagram, Whitney_Jo_Photography.
